Caceres Loan To Juve ?


Juventus are locked in talks with Barcelonaover defender Martin Caceres.

Caceres' agent Daniel Fonseca, the former Juve striker, is leading the negotiations, which would see the Uruguay international move to Juve on-loan with the view to a permanent deal next June.

Barca, which paid £15 million for Caceres, are open to the agreement as they struggle to find a buyer for the young centre-half.

The former Inter back said: "I know that I've come to replace Sylvinho, but that does not mean to be a substitute. I think the competition with Eric Abidal will be positive for the team and of course I come with the intention of playing."

Asked about the prospect of Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic also moving to the Nou Camp, Maxwell added "Zlatan is a player with fantastic ability and a great person. He is my friend, in fact, we've shared a room, but it should be him and other people who decide his future and I have nothing to say about it."

Asked about Ibrahimovic's rebellious streak, Maxwell added: "Personally, I've never witnessed an act of indiscipline from him."

Messi To Win Ballon d'Or - Real Madrid Players


Real Madrid players believe Barcelona star Lionel Messi is top contender to win the Ballon d'Or this year.

Despite the arrival of current holder Cristiano Ronaldo at Real, both Gonzalo Higuain and Marcelo say Messi deserves to be named European Footballer of the Year.

Higuain said: "Today, the last winner of the Ballon d'Or is Cristiano, but this year Lionel Messi is going to win because Barca won the Treble. Undoubtedly, he is going to win this year."

And Marcelo added: "I think Messi will be the new Ballon d'Or because even though Cristiano has done well, to win the award it includes many things such as titles won."

Eto'os Agent Due In Milan


Samuel Eto'o's agent is due in Milan on Tuesday to discuss Eto'o proposed move to Inter.

The Serie A champions are keen to land the Barcelona striker as soon as possible, Mourinho wants Eto'o settled in as quick as possible if the deal goes threw,the Cameroonian expected to form part of an agreement which will see Ibrahimovic heading to Barcelona.

The 28-year-old has spent the last five years with Barca, but has been deemed surplus to requirements by boss Pep Guardiola.

He is believed to be open to the possibility of a move to Italy, but may have to lower his wage demands in order to push through a deal.

Reports suggest Inter are unwilling to match the figures currently being sought by the African ace and that could yet prove to be a stumbling block in any agreement.

"The Cameroonian's agent, Jose Maria Mesalles will be in Milan Tuesday 20th fo July during the day," said Inter's technical director Marco Branca

"The deal has not been finalised, there is still much to talk about, but I'm optimistic."
